Diana Gipson
DIANA GIPSON is a freelance musician and professional clarinet instructor working in the Cincinnati area. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master’s in Clarinet Performance from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. She has 35 years of private teaching experience, along with five years as a band instructor.
As a clarinet instructor for 23 years at the College Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department, Ms. Gipson has earned the status of Master Teacher. She has also held adjunct positions as a clarinet instructor at Midland College in Texas, Northern Kentucky University, and as a woodwind pedagogy teacher for the University of Cincinnati.
Ms. Gipson has worked as a music coach with Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble and Artworks Chamber Project, and provided woodwind pedagogy consulting and master class services in the tri-state area.
As the former principal clarinetist of the Midland Symphony and the West Texas Woodwind Quintet, Ms. Gipson has participated in world premieres of several works as well as recording opportunities here and abroad. She has performed with the Cincinnati Opera, Northern Kentucky Symphony, Blue Ash Symphony, Cincinnati Philharmonic, and the Tutti Soloisti Chamber Ensemble.
Ms. Gipson’s students consistently participate in prestigious competitions and ensembles, including Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble, National Honor Band, All-State Band and Orchestra, and the Overture Awards.
Ms. Gipson provides private instruction at Mason High School and at her residence in Landen, Ohio.
