NEW INFORMATION

Executive Committee

Booster Executive Committee Election

We will be voting to elect the next Booster Executive Committee in April.  If you are interested in running for a position on the Executive Committee, please reach out to Kim Bishop by March 1st at secretary@masonbandboosters.com.  We will be announcing the candidates shortly after the deadline. Anyone is welcome to run for any Executive Committee position. Please click here to see Executive Board positions and their descriptions along with details of the election process according to our current booster bylaws. This link contains our current Booster Executive Committee team structure for the current school year. This can be used as a reference to see what committees currently fall under each board position. Please note that the team structure is reviewed and adjusted each year by the Executive Committee to best suit the needs of the band program.

If you have any further questions about what any of the positions entail, please do not hesitate to contact any current board member. We would be happy to talk with you.

Another important role we need to fill for next season is the Sponsorship Chair. This is not a board position, but is critical to helping us provide opportunities to our students and help us to keep costs down. Please contact Kim Bishop if you are interested in becoming our next Sponsorship chair at the email address above.

Thank you in advance for your consideration in serving in a leadership position of the band booster organization. It is a fun and rewarding way to support our incredible band program and more importantly the students.

Guard

Winter Guard Registration Happening Now!!

This year, Mason will showcase FOUR winter guard teams: the Competitive Winter Guard, the Winter Guard Performance Ensemble, the 7th Grade Winter Guard, and a 5th & 6th Grade Winter Guard for the first time ever! Awards

Thank You And Links To The Slideshows Shared During The Marching Band Celebration

Many thanks to the amazing crew who assisted me with the awards on Tuesday.  Events like this truly take a village to organize and execute.

Tiffany Williams and Melissa Woodward, I appreciate you passing out the awards and keeping things moving along. You are incredible women who are always there to pitch in whenever needed. You both go above and beyond everyday doing things for our students that are both seen and unseen by our families.

Nancy Riley, thanks for putting together the season video so we can all go down memory lane of our fun season. Thank you as well for putting together the memory books, panos, and section photos this year.

Photo Crew, thank you for documenting the evening by taking incredible photos.  Your talents beautifully captured the night allowing parents to just enjoy the moment.

Aaron Rex, your Rose Parade slideshow was simply amazing! You did a great job of creating a snapshot of our once in a lifetime trip for our students and their families.

Karyn Baioni you did a fantastic job with the Senior Slideshow!  It was fun to see our seniors when they were little and to see the wonderful young men and women they have become today. Thanks as well for organizing the Senior Night and all of the other little things you did to make our Seniors feel special this year.

Gina Marshall, your balloon tower and decorations were fantastic. They made for a great photo opportunity.  We so appreciate you leading Spirit this year!

A special thanks to all of the parents who donated cookies and water for the evening.  The special treats made the night feel extra special.

To the following parents and students who helped with set up and/or clean up: Julie Chaney, Tiffany Williams, Padmaja Kandisetty, Sridhar Kandisetty, Regina Devassy, Karyn Baioni, Johanna Chasse, Kaja Telmet Harper,  April Cielica, Bridget Siedlecki, Desirae Richey, Michael Bishop, Caitlyn Bishop, Andrew Giberson, Mike Devassy, Allysa Williams, Nick Baioni, Austin Frederick and anyone else who I may have inadvertently missed. Thank You!! Many hands make light work.

We also appreciate the Mason City Schools administration who support all of our endeavors and the facilities staff who assisted with making sure we had all the equipment and space we needed for the evening.  Shout out in particular to Jenni Schmeichel (facilities manager), Katie Turfan (tech support), and the custodial staff.

Band directors and staff, thanks for recognizing the hard work of our students. It was a night to recognize our students, but please know how much we appreciate the hard work, dedication, and opportunities you have provided us this past year.

Thanks to all the parents, friends, and extended family who came out to support and celebrate our band students. Lastly, thanks to the students for giving us an unforgettable season!

Congratulations Honor Band Participants

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in Honor Band. Each of the Honor Band groups put on incredible performances showcasing their talents. We are thankful to have been given the opportunity to host OMEA’s District 13 Honor Band for students both from Mason and other surrounding school districts. Special thanks to the music educators who gave the students this wonderful experience.  Thanks as well to the parent volunteers who took time out of their weekend to serve lunch to the Middle School and 9th grade participants.

This year, each member of Concert Winds, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony will again be responsible for two basketball games as part of their grade for the Spring Semester. Some years this is a three game requirement, but due to the busy Rose Parade year, we have restructured to do the same amount of games with each student only needing to attend two games to respect your busy schedule. For all students in Concert White, Silver and Green pep band is not required but students are welcome and encouraged to attend if they want to visit with their friends and perform to support our school and community!
