Travel Update

Please review the final band itinerary for Indianapolis.   It contains important dates, times and reminders for the trip this week.  If you were at the Travel Briefing this week, this is the same document shared at that meeting.

A couple of reminders:

1)  Student drop-off with luggage and all performance gear is on Thursday morning at Wall 2 Wall.   Please arrange to have students dropped off by 8:30 am.  Student leaders need to arrive at 8:00 am.  Charter buses will leave directly from Wall 2 Wall after rehearsal this year.

2)  Students have an excused absence for Thursday and Friday, but should have talked to their teachers about the days they are missing to make a plan for make-up work.    

3)  Mason performs at 6:45 pm Thursday at Lucas Oil Stadium.  If you are planning to watch, please allow yourself an hour to park, get through stadium security and find your seats.    After the performance we'd would love to have some help for our students moving our props back to the trailers and to cheer the students on as they return to the Convention Center to change.   Exact location will be shared via Remind once we identify our location.

4)  Volunteer opportunities for Grand Nationals are listed in Charms.   There are important opportunities to help us unload upon our arrival in Indy.  Each time we perform we have to move our props to and from the stadium.  Parent help moving the props helps our students conserve their energy for the field and ensures Mason meets timing requires for entry and exit.  We have a small window of time to move the props both in to, and out of, Lucas Oil Stadium. There are many props to move, and we must adhere to strict BOA time rules and will be 'on the clock.' Details will be shared via Remind updates and with all who volunteer. You will have time to help with the props and still watch Mason perform.  If you have any questions, please email Bill at bwilky67@cinci.rr.com

5) Travel Waivers for Indianapolis (if your student is not riding the bus home with the band) are due TODAY.   Please complete the google document tonight if you plan to pick up your student.  We are not able to accept late waivers without director approval.

6)  If your student has a new injury or illness that requires new medical attention, please bring along the DMS Form (dispensing medication at school) for your doctor’s signature.    From today forward, we are only able to accept medication related to a new illness or new injury. Please contact our Medical Secretary Lisa Oldham with any emergency medication:  medicalsecretary@masonbandboosters.com

Wall2Wall Rehearsals this week

All marching band rehearsals this week will be at Wall2Wall. We will have two school buses to transport students from the High School to Wall2Wall, however, we encourage everyone to make transportation arrangements to get there on their own if at all possible.

New Year’s Eve Celebration

Join us for a relaxing fun filled night out in Mason!

We've partnered with Basil's on Market to host a New Year's Eve celebration to remember!  It includes a delicious dinner, live music and a champagne toast to welcome 2019.  It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our amazing season as well as the ability to connect with friends, neighbors and the community at large all while earning proceeds to jumpstart music education for our students.  Please share the link with your contacts and through social media.
