Band Notes for the week of February 19th, 2018

If you have a student in Concert Winds, Concert White or Concert Silver we need your help before and after the concert on Thursday! The Concert Uniform Committee is in need of several parents to help us get the students dressed in their vests and ties before the concert and after the concert collecting vests and ties. Cincinnati Regional Concert Band Festival, March 3

Mason Band Boosters is hosting the 2nd annual Cincinnati Regional Concert Band Festival. The festival is affiliated with Music for All and is an opportunity for High School and Middle School concert bands to perform for and be evaluated by highly esteemed music educators. Thirty bands from around the region will attend this event on March 3, including a feature performance from the Bowling Green State University Wind Symphony.

Of course, we can't pull off an event like this without your help! Sign-ups are live in charms now! We need your help with tasks such as parking, concessions, ticket sales, ushers, band guides, hospitality, food donations and more.

As of this morning, there are around 120 volunteer spots and 60 food donation spots open!

Last year was a huge success thanks to all of our volunteers -- please consider helping us again! Any questions can be directed to musicfestival@masonbandboosters.com.

For your reference the Mason Bands will be performing at the following times:

8:30 am Concert winds (small commons)

11:00 am symphonic (auditorium)

7:00 pm MMS Symphonic Winds (small commons)

9:20 pm Wind Symphony (auditorium)

Winter Guard Notes

The MHS Winter Guard Teams competed at Bellbrook High School on Saturday, February 17th. The JV moved up to the SAA class this week and earned fourth place with a score of 59.130. Varsity was the only group to compete in open class and earned a score of 60.700.

Next week will be one of their larger competitions at Campbell County High School with 60 teams scheduled. All four of the Mason Winter guard teams will be competing. The Middle School teams are scheduled at the beginning of the day and the MHS teams will be toward the end. Next Booster Parent Meeting: Thursday, March 1st

Please join us for our next Booster Parent Meeting on Thursday, March 1, at 7:00 pm in the band room.

During this meeting, Mr. Protzman will be discussing the 2018 Marching Band Team! We would love for everyone to attend!

It has been brought to our attention that there are multiple events going on in Indianapolis the weekend of Grand Nationals, and hotel rooms are going fast! Please consider making your reservations!
