Band Camp

Reminders for this week:

  • Students will need to leave campus on the days where there is a three hour mid-day break.

  • On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday there will not be food refrigeration available until students return at 3:00 pm; please have your student bring their dinner when they return for evening practice.

TAG Day

Thanks to all of you -- students, parents, staff, and the Mason community--Tag Day 2017 was an overwhelming success!  We were able to raise $35,066.00  in our door to door campaign, with support still coming in on our CrowdRise site.   If you receive any additional donations from family or neighbors, please put them in an envelope marked Tag Day and have your student drop them in the dropbox.

We had 4 cars raise over $1000 dollars each.    Winning Car Members Can pick up their Speedway Gift Cards at Dinner on Monday at the Band Aide Table.

Final Uniform Fitting

We are pleased to report that fittings are nearly complete. Final fitting appointments are available tomorrow,  Monday, July 31, from 3 - 5:00 p.m.

Shoes & Socks

Uniform bags will remain available in the hallway until Friday, August 4. Please remind your student to bring in two pair of long black socks and place them in the back pocket of their bag. Returning marchers need to bring in their socks as well as their marching shoes. Shoes that have been ordered will be labeled and placed in uniform bags prior to the first performance.


Marching Band Fee/EZpay Update

The $500 marching band fee is now payable via EZpay! The due date for this payment has been moved to August 11.

In EZpay, the marching band fee is listed under “Activity Fee.”

As always, the marching band fee may also be paid with check, payable to Mason City Schools. Please put your check in an envelope marked with the student’s name, student ID, and note “band fee,” and place in the band drop box located outside the band office.

There are some students who have outstanding $100 commitment fees and $150 band camp fees. These fees are past due, and unable to be paid with EZpay. Please pay these fees by check made out to Mason City Schools.

Lastly, if you have a financial concern, please talk/send an email to one of our directors so that we can work out a payment plan. Please also let a director know if your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch.

New Process for Typical OTC Medication

We have made an important change for typical OTC medications (acetaminophen and ibuprofen) for our students.These two OTC medications will be provided centrally for any student for whom a completed DMS form is on file. Parents can send the DMS form electronically or drop off to a Band Aid since you no longer need to provide the actual medication. We encourage parents to submit a DMS for one or both of these medications if your student has needed these medications at home. Please help us take the best care of your students and consider what they may need to feel the best throughout the season.
